nurse as well..”

“..Good conversation. The connection functioned well, at times the sound slowly came afterwards but did not cause any problems..”

In open responses, primary care and KUH professionals highlighted positive, neutral, and critical attitudes towards future developments. The future ideas and proposals in both response groups consisted of working technical aspects such as functioning microphone, camera, internet connection and group placement; flexible scheduling and preparation for a VC meeting, truncating the broad issue of consultation to a certain time and the majority recommended the continuation of the VC for the future.

According to KUH professionals, technical problems must be solved in the future if the VC meetings are been utilized. Majority of the KUH responses included problems with the technology devices. A vast majority reported problems with the microphone and unpredictable sudden disconnection. Responses also revealed that more time must be left or set aside to resolve issues before the meeting starts. As a suggestion for reparation they suggested that group placement in the VC meeting must be focused. All participant must be seen in the video because it helps to know who is talking at that moment. Also, they encourage to talk about possible, upcoming technical problems in a VC.

One example cited by a KUH professional

“.. It is important to actively ask if the other VC participant can see or hear you. Also, it would be desirable to talk about possible upcoming technical problems which might not be

said spontaneously..”

Another KUH professional suggests proactive notification if there will be any technical issues

”..Some kind of alarm / signal about the end of the connection would still be good, because in the middle of the conversation, time passes easily unnoticed and, if necessary, it would be

more smart to continue meeting without disconnection..”

The broad scope of the consultation also was mentioned in certain responses. An overwhelming majority of KUH professionals stated that in several consultation, the problem turned out to be broader than the consultation question was identified. KUH professionals suggested that more detailed baseline survey of the child´s problems could have been made before booking the VC.

In the future, booking a longer consultation time would be advisable. They suggest that continuing VC in the future would be needed. Also, the respondents revealed that the need for future mutual cooperation is clear.

Similarly agreed KUH professional in his/hers answer

“..The video consultation will be needed to continue. Without this VC discussion, child´s situation would have been monitored and now the VC seemed to act as an intervention..”

According to primary care respondents, similar topics were identified and suggested for the future. Most of the proposals were related to solving technical problems. Majority of the technical problems were associated with microphone, camera, connection and better layout of people in the consultation. As a suggestion for future, the respondents proposed that new microphones must be invested. Contrary to that, few of the respondents addressed that there were no future development ideas. And, they revealed that generally there are often problems with technology, but after the initial difficulties, the connection usually works.

Primary care professionals´ suggestions for the future included preferable scheduling, anticipation and longer consultation time. A few respondents perceived that finding a consultation time was challenging because several professionals schedule is hard to coordinate.

They proposed possibility to book VC for available time for a month. In that way, several participants would be able to participate in the VC. Also, longer consultation time would enable extensive conversation and create and opportunity to ask more specific questions. Also, primary care professionals experienced that preparation and anticipating is important. However, despite all the technical problems, primary care professionals had positive experience and majority of the primary care professional wished continuation for the future.

One example cited by a primary care professional

“..Finding a consultation time was initially challenging when it came to reconciling the schedules of three people, but a common time was found reasonably soon. It would be good if

times could be booked for a month or a year and a half, for example, to make it easier to find the time..”

“..It is definitely worth continuing video conferences in the future!..”

“..the family and the healthcare professional wishes that this will continue..”
