We seek the highest quality papers that focus on the normative aspect of property rights for business and the impact of property rights on the environment. Some possible approaches to this topic are, but are not limited to:
• Free market environmentalism
• “Takings” and the environment
• Property rights around the world and their impact on the environment
• The role of property rights in international development
• Property rights exercised in the commons
• The effect of property rights on species preservation and biodiversity
Papers should focus on normative aspects of these issues as opposed to predominately technical or scientific considerations.
Papers presented at the symposium will be published in our mono- graph series, The Leeds School Series on Business and Society, published by Blackwell Publishers. Travel grants and honoraria are available for presenters.
Submit a two-page proposal by January 15 and final papers by March 1, 2006 to:
