5.5 Reflection on learning

The author went through a big learning curve while conducting this thesis project. As stated at the beginning of this document, they have a vast interest in the circular economy

and textiles industry. The project reinforced their particular views on working in the indus-try and taught many new things on various topics. The author feels that in terms of their professional growth, the project has been of immense benefit.

In places, the author found the writing and research processes challenging. For example, the circular economy, its operating models, the textiles industry, and its supply chains en-compass vast extensive topics that it was demanding to execute as a cohesive ensemble with the resources this project enabled. However, the author feels very prosperous in cre-ating a comprehensive thesis that answers the research question.

During the project, the author promoted several skills essential for study and research.

They developed in writing and processing text, searching for information, and processing and analyzing data. They also learned much new knowledge of other than the respected themes—the project needed to read through a large variety of publications and other liter-ature. In addition to the sources included in the research section, they also read through, e.g., many technical publications, which deepened their knowledge of the circular econ-omy and textiles production and supply chains. As the last Haaga-Helia University of Ap-plied Science project, the author considers this thesis successful as it motivated their fu-ture studies and working life direction.
