5 YHTEENVETO JA JOHTOPÄÄTÖKSET

5.3 Jatkotutkimusaiheita

Tämä tutkielma käsitteli vain mobiili- ja Facebook-pelejä valmistavia peliyrityksiä, joten pelialan kokonaiskuvan saamiseksi voisi olla hyödyllistä tutkia pelialaa kokonaisvaltaisemmin, sisällyttäen tarkasteluun myös konsoli- ja pc-pelien markkinoinnin. Kokonaiskuvan saamista olisi parantanut myös vielä useamman pelialan yrityksen haastattelu, jolloin otos ei olisi niin pieni ja vertailukohteita olisi enemmän. Vaihtoehtoisesti tutkimus voisi keskittyä vain yhteen julkaisualustaan, kuten mobiilipeleihin, jolloin olisi mahdollista saada syvällisempi kuva aihealueesta.

Mobiilipelialan tutkiminen olisi relevanttia myös sen huiman kasvun, ja alan uutuudesta johtuvan aikaisemman tutkimuksen puutteen vuoksi. Olisi myös mahdollista syventyä mobiilipelialaan vielä yksityiskohtaisemmin ja tutkia tarkemmin esimerkiksi sosiaalisen median vaikuttajien hyödyntämistä. Koska tässä tutkielmassa käytiin läpi sosiaalisen median markkinointia melko laajasti, olisi myös mielenkiintoista tutkia aihetta syventymällä vain yhteen sen osaan, kuten pelkästään uusasiakashankintaan tai ainoastaan WOM:iin ja yhteisöllisyyteen. Varsinkin datan hyödyntäminen on uusi ja tärkeä markkinoinnin kehityssuunta, jota tulisi tutkia entistä enemmän.
