Personal task

• Implementing the course involves writing a personal report on the potential of circular economy in construction. The following is a description of the reporting assignment.

You are the development director for a medium-sized traditional construction company. The construction business consists of contracting to both the public and private sectors. To a small extent, the company has its own residential production for row house and small apartment

buildings. Most of the contracting projects consist of schools, kindergartens, industrial plants and various types of business buildings. The contract also includes some amount of renovation or

similar projects. With regard to the use of building materials, the company has implemented construction projects in wood, concrete and steel structures.

The CEO has asked you for a brief report (3-4 A4 pages) of what implementing a circular economy policy could mean for the construction business. You have been asked to analyze:

• 1) What new business opportunities circular economy can offer

• 2) Does circular economy increase or decrees the cost level in company

• 3) How to better utilize the various building materials from a circular economy perspective
