No worry, let´s make it simple..

Guidelines – research papers

 All research papers should be made open access

 Two ways to openness:

Green open access – deposit your paper to university repository (in JU JYX)

Golden open access – publish your paper in open access journal

 Remember: always publish your paper in the best possible forum for you!

(10)

Guidelines – green open access

 Publish your paper in the best possible forum

 When your paper is accepted for publication send your accepted version of the paper to the library or at latest when you are reporting your publication to

university´s research database.

 That´s all!

 More: http://openaccess.jyu.fi/en/parallel

(11)

Guidelines – golden open access

 Basic idea on an open access journal: The author pays to get published while the consumers have free access

 List of open access journals: https://doaj.org/

 There are very respected open access journals but also those which are not so valued.

 … and even a long list of predatory journals:

https://scholarlyoa.com/publishers/

 Hybrid OA: an article can be bought open in

subscription based journal – not recommended

(12)

Guidelines – research data

 Share your data when possible – not all data should or could be open to everybody

 What does open mean?

http://opendefinition.org/od/2.1/en/

- public domain or provided under an open license - should be downloadable via the Internet without charge

- must be provided in a form readily processable by a computer

-must be provided in an open format

Guidelines – research data

Use DMPTuuli to create your data management plan:
