Pilot Course at Novia UAS
• The course was piloted at Novia University Applied Sciences by Elina Vartama in Autumn 2019.
• Pilot implementation utilized blended learning approach including
• 4 face-to-face sessions in a classroom including
• quest lecture
• presentation from the commissioner
• presentations of the project work to the commissioner.
• Also tutoring sessions to support the project work were provided when needed as well as visits to the commissioner.
• Piloting learning platform was Moodle.
• The course was piloted by 57 business administration students.

Following sections were included in the course:

Introduction to Circular Economy, 2 cr
•
Introduction to Service Design, 1 sp
•
Project work with the circular economy theme, by utilizing
service design methods and tools, as team work, 3 cr

Learning Outcomes
After Circular economy in Service design course the student:
1. Is able to use service design process and methods in circular economy assignment given in the project part of the course.
2. Is able to use circular economy business models in practice.
3. Is able to develop customer-/user oriented services and products according to principles of circular economy.
4. Is able to use methods of service design in co-creation.
